Staff Biographies
Juan Ramos- Director of Bands
Juan Ramos is coming to Texas City ISD from Willowridge High School in Fort Bend ISD where he earned division I ratings with the concert band, jazz band, and marching band as well as making a Marching Area appearance.
Mr. Ramos received his Bachelor of Music with EC-12 certification from Prairie View A&M University. Prior to attending Prairie View A&M University, Mr. Ramos also attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. where he was a member of the Spartan “Legion” Marching Band and was a charter member of the Rho Mu chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Mr. Ramos has performed with the Houston Texans Deep Steel Thunder Band, the Gulf Coast Wind Ensemble, the Conrad Johnson Orchestra, the Symphony of Southeast Texas, The Miami Heat Street Band, and the Florida International University Pep Band to name a few.
Mr. Ramos is originally from Miami Beach, Fl., where he graduated from Miami Beach Sr. High School. While attending Miami Beach Sr High School, Mr. Ramos made the Florida All-State band his junior and senior year on bass trombone and had the privilege of performing under the baton of Frederick Fennell. Mr. Ramos will be going into his 8th year as a music educator and is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Jazz Educators Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Benjamin Guillotte - Assistant Band Director/Percussion Coordinator
Benjamin Guillotte serves as an Assistant Band Director and Percussion Coordinator at Texas City High School. Mr. Guillotte directs the TCHS Drumline, Indoor Percussion Program, and Mariachi Raya. He also works as a specialist at both Blocker Middle School and Levi Fry Intermediate School.
Mr. Guillotte is an alumnus of Sam Houston State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education with a Minor in Percussion Studies. Upon graduation, he taught at Santa Fe ISD for five years before coming to TCHS. Aside from his duties at Texas City ISD, Mr. Guillotte also serves as the Contemporary Worship Leader at League City United Methodist Church in League City. He has two children, Jason and Macie, and is married to his wife Kirstie. Mr. Guillotte is currently an active member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Association of Mariachi Educators, Percussion Arts Society, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

Michael Johnson - Assistant Band Director
Michael Johnson serves as the Assistant Band Director, and Woodwind Specialist. Mr. Johnson will assist with directing the TCHS Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Symphonic Band. Mr. Johnson will also assist at both Blocker Middle School, and Levi Fry Intermediate.
Mr. Johnson graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, where he studied Music Education and Saxophone Performance with Mr. Fred Allen, and Dr. Nathan Nabb. Mr. Johnson has nearly a decade as a music educator and is coming to Texas City ISD from Houston ISD where he was the Director of Bands at Furr High School, receiving several 1st division awards. Mr. Johnson is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association and Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity. He also joins us with his wife Miranda, and his two children Reed and Aria.
